On Demand Cinema for Educators
On-Demand: Vietnamese Cinema for Educators is a partnership between the Vietnam Film Institute (VFI) and the Center for Southeast Asian Studies at the University of Hawaiʻi. At present, these films are only available for viewers associated with educational institutions through their respective library collection managers. The films are hosted and streamed by the video sharing website VIMEO. Film subscriptions can be made on six month and one year streaming periods. Revenue generated by film subscriptions will be returned to VFI to help in the management and development of their film archive, with a portion also being returned to CSEAS for management and development of the streaming site.
The streaming process is simple and follows this standard format:
- Librarians and educational resource collections specialists should contact CSEAS expressing interest in accessing the film library and letting us know your educational affiliation. Once your affiliation has been verified, we will give you an access code to proceed to the subscription section.
- Payment may be made directly to our PayPal account for the six month or one year subscription period using an institutional credit card. Payment orders (PO) and other forms of payment are not being accepted at this time.
- Access to the films will be managed by each institutional subscriber based on their respective institution’s password protocol. Password access to the films will change at the end of each subscription period.
- Institutions interested in longer term access should contact CSEAS for subscription packages designed to meet your collection needs.
