Job Opportunity: Open-Rank Professor of Anthropology (Asia Focus) – Columbia University

The Department of Anthropology at Columbia University invites applications for an open-rank faculty position (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor) in the sociocultural anthropology of Asia. The appointment is expected to begin as early as July 1, 2025.

Qualifications

Applicants must:

  • Hold a doctoral degree in anthropology or a related field.
  • Have a record of publication demonstrating significant contributions to the field.
  • Show evidence of teaching experience, preferably at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Salary Range

  • Assistant Professor: $105,000 – $115,000
  • Associate Professor: $115,000 – $145,000
  • Full Professor: $155,000 – $230,000
