The Stanford Next Asia Policy Lab (SNAPL) at Shorenstein APARC invites applications for its 2025-26 Visiting Fellowship program. The lab offers three visiting scholar positions to researchers and professionals from the Asia-Pacific region, including one dedicated to research on the Philippines.
Research Themes
Applicants should have expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Talent Flows and Development
- Nationalism and Racism
- U.S.-Asia Relations
- Democratic Crisis and Reform
Visiting fellows will collaborate with postdoctoral fellows, affiliated Stanford faculty, and students to conduct research on contemporary policy challenges in Asia.
Fellowship Benefits
- $30,000 supplementary stipend for the academic year

- Opportunity to audit University lecture courses (subject to instructor approval)
- Participation in events at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies and other campus programs
Eligibility & Selection Criteria
- Open to candidates of all ranks with a PhD
- Preference for mid-career professionals with a strong research and publication record
- Fellows must be affiliated with an institution or organization in the Asia-Pacific region
- Proficiency in English is required
