The Stanford Next Asia Policy Lab (SNAPL) at Shorenstein APARC invites applications for its 2025-26 Visiting Fellowship program. The lab offers three visiting scholar positions to researchers and professionals from the Asia-Pacific region, including one dedicated to research on the Philippines.

Research Themes

Applicants should have expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Talent Flows and Development
  • Nationalism and Racism
  • U.S.-Asia Relations
  • Democratic Crisis and Reform

Visiting fellows will collaborate with postdoctoral fellows, affiliated Stanford faculty, and students to conduct research on contemporary policy challenges in Asia.

Fellowship Benefits

  • $30,000 supplementary stipend for the academic year

  • Opportunity to audit University lecture courses (subject to instructor approval)
  • Participation in events at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies and other campus programs

Eligibility & Selection Criteria

  • Open to candidates of all ranks with a PhD
  • Preference for mid-career professionals with a strong research and publication record
  • Fellows must be affiliated with an institution or organization in the Asia-Pacific region
  • Proficiency in English is required
