We are pleased to share an exciting opportunity to participate in the 20th Anniversary Conference of Politics & Gender, a leading journal in the study of women, gender, and politics. The conference will take place at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, on May 28-29, 2025.
This two-day event brings together scholars to explore diverse topics related to women, gender, and politics across subfields of political science, including comparative politics, international relations, political theory, and U.S. politics. The conference welcomes innovative research that interrogates traditional categories and methodologies while addressing fundamental questions in political science from a gendered perspective.
Key Themes of Interest
While all submissions on gender and politics are welcome, we are particularly interested in topics addressing:
- The gendered nature and impact of 2024 elections (U.S. and internationally)
- Advances and setbacks in sexuality and reproductive justice policies
- Backlash against women’s and/or LGBTQ+ rights
- Gender, authoritarianism, and democratic backsliding
- Intersectional analyses of theoretical, policy, and legal developments
Deadlines
- January 15, 2025: Paper proposals due
- February 15, 2025: Notifications sent
- April 1, 2025: Registration deadline for presenters
- May 1, 2025: Registration deadline for other attendees
- May 14, 2025: Circulation of papers to discussants and co-panelists
