UH CSEAS Initiative Empowers Rural Development Leaders in Bangladesh
We’re thrilled to announce that our center, the UH Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS), has been highlighted in UH News.
UH Mānoa Geography Professor Brian Szuster recently brought his expertise to Bangladesh, inspiring young professionals in rural development. This initiative, funded by an $86,600 LuceSEA Transitions grant from the Henry Luce Foundation, was hosted by the Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD) as part of the Young Development Experts Connection program. Szuster’s two-day intensive training sessions focused on balancing development needs with environmental preservation, empowering over 30 professionals from Asia and the Pacific to drive sustainable change.
This project reflects CSEAS’s commitment to fostering international collaboration and equipping young professionals with essential skills for sustainable development across Asia and the Pacific. We’re proud to see this work featured in UH News as part of our ongoing mission to address global challenges.
