FLAS Fellowship Now Available for Ilocano Language Studies – Apply for 2025-2026!
We’re excited to announce that the Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowship program at UH Mānoa’s Center for Southeast Asian Studies now includes funding for Ilocano language study! This addition expands our language offerings, which already include Filipino (Tagalog), Indonesian, Khmer (Cambodian), Thai, and Vietnamese.
If you’re interested in deepening your knowledge of Southeast Asia and learning a Southeast Asian language, the FLAS Fellowship provides substantial support for both undergraduate and graduate students. Fellowships are available for the 2025-2026 Academic Year, as well as for Summer 2025.
Funding Overview:
- Academic Year (Undergraduate): Up to $15,000
- Academic Year (Graduate): Up to $38,000
- Summer (Undergraduate & Graduate): Up to $8,000
