Community College Initiative (CCI) Program


Application Deadline: December 31, 2024 (extensions possible if on a weekend or holiday).

The CCI Program offers non-degree academic and professional training for Indonesian citizens at U.S. community colleges, focusing on technical skill development, leadership training, and English language proficiency. Participants engage in internships, service learning, and community engagement activities, promoting mutual understanding and preparing participants for workforce demands in fields like agriculture, engineering, and information technology.

Duration

One academic year (July 2025 – June 2026)

Eligibility

  • Indonesian citizen residing in Indonesia, aged 18 or older by July 1, 2025.
  • Holds at least a high school diploma.
  • Demonstrated leadership, community service experience, and English proficiency (minimum TOEFL ITP 480 or equivalent).
  • Relevant experience or education in the chosen field, but limited to under five years of professional experience.
  • Commitment to return to Indonesia post-program and fulfill the J-visa two-year residency requirement.
  • Cannot be currently enrolled in higher degree programs or have extensive overseas study experience.
