About the Book:
In Insurgent Communities, Dr. Sharon M. Quinsaat explores the formation of diasporic connections through transnational protests. Focusing on Filipinos in the United States and the Netherlands, Quinsaat examines how their political resistance against Ferdinand Marcos’ dictatorship, mobilization for migrant rights, and construction of a collective memory of the Marcos regime contribute to the strategic formation of diasporas. Her research highlights the role of social movements in shaping collective identities, offering a fresh contribution to the fields of migration and social movements studies.
