Summer 2025: June 23 – Aug. 1, 2025 at Language Training Center, Universitas Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW) in Salatiga, Central Java, Indonesia.

The Advanced Indonesian Abroad Program is now accepting applications for Summer 2025! This immersive language program, organized by Northern Illinois University, will be held at, Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW) in Salatiga, Central Java, Indonesia, from June 23 to August 1, 2025.

Program Overview

This program offers an in-country immersion experience focused on advancing proficiency in the Indonesian language. Participants will engage in:

  • Language instruction with experienced local teachers
  • Cultural activities and weekly field trips
  • Weekend excursions to explore Central Java

Eligibility

Open to graduate students, May 2025 graduates, undergraduates (junior/senior), faculty, and educational administrators. Applicants must have intermediate-level Indonesian proficiency by June 2025.

Funding Options

Fellowship and funding options are available, including:

  • Fulbright-Hays Fellowships (for U.S. citizens and permanent residents)
  • FLAS fellowships, Boren fellowships, or private funding.
