The Department of Asian Languages & Literature at the University of Washington seeks a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor of Vietnamese, starting Autumn 2025. Key details include:

  • Position: Full-time, non-tenure-track, 9-month position
  • Initial Appointment: 3 years, with the possibility of renewal
  • Location: Seattle, WA
  • Salary: $64,800 – $75,600 annually (commensurate with experience)

Responsibilities:

  • Teach Vietnamese language courses at all levels
  • Develop curricular and teaching materials

  • M.A. (or equivalent) in Vietnamese language/literature, second language pedagogy, or a related field
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Vietnamese and fluency in English
  • At least 1 year of experience teaching Vietnamese at the college level
