Assistant Professor, Asian Studies – University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa
The Department of Asian Studies in the College of Arts, Languages, and Letters at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa is accepting applications for a 9-month, tenure-track, full-time assistant professor position. The position will begin in Fall 2025, pending position clearance and availability of funds. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Position Overview
The Department of Asian Studies offers interdisciplinary BA and MA degree programs, as well as Graduate Certificates in the study of China, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Inter-Asia. The new faculty member will contribute to all three of its degree programs, with a particular focus on expanding the department’s Asian International Affairs course offerings. These courses merge interdisciplinary, Asia-centric perspectives with policy-relevant research and teaching.
