CSEAS Featured in UH News for Expanding Career Opportunities in the Asia-Pacific!
We are excited to share that the Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS) has been featured in UH News for its critical role in expanding the Careers in Asia-Pacific Affairs (CAPA) initiative at UH Mānoa.
Launched in 2023, CAPA aims to provide students with the skills and resources they need to build successful careers in the Asia-Pacific region, spanning government, education, business, and nonprofit sectors. CSEAS is proud to contribute to this initiative by offering hands-on opportunities and expert-led events to prepare students for their future careers.
This fall, CAPA is introducing exciting new developments, including:
- A new speaker series starting on September 18, 2024 with the session “International Education Careers: Nothing Adventured, Nothing Attained”, featuring UH Mānoa alumni who have pursued teaching careers overseas. - The ASAN 305 course: Career Pathways in Asian Studies, designed to help students explore and pursue careers in the Asia-Pacific region. For more detail here: Featured Course: ASAN305
Additionally, CAPA is supported by a $1.13 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education, which enhances career readiness through Southeast Asian language and area studies expertise.
