CSEAS-Supported Program Enhances UH Mānoa Students’ Understanding of Southeast Asia

The Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS) at UH Mānoa is pleased to highlight a recent immersive learning experience in Indonesia, partly supported by our LuceSEA Transitions: Environment, Society and Change grant.

For the third consecutive year, UH Mānoa’s Department of Urban and Regional Planning (DURP) partnered with Diponegoro University (UNDIP) in Semarang, Indonesia, to offer a two-week summer course. This program aligns with CSEAS’s mission to promote Southeast Asian studies and foster international academic collaboration.

This initiative exemplifies how CSEAS support can enhance our students’ understanding of crucial issues in Southeast Asia, particularly urbanization, climate resilience, and sustainable development.
We’re proud to contribute to such impactful, experiential learning opportunities that broaden our students’ global perspectives and deepen their engagement with Southeast Asian studies.
