UH Mānoa Graduate Pursues Diplomatic Career with U.S. Department of State


The Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa is proud to share that Monica Orillo, a graduate student specializing in Southeast Asian studies, has been featured in UH News. The article, titled “From Classroom to Nation’s Capital: UH Grad, Diplomat’s Journey”, highlights Orillo’s academic journey at UH Mānoa and her future career as a public diplomacy officer with the U.S. Department of State.

Orillo, a recipient of the prestigious Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship, will soon graduate with a master’s degree in Asian studies and a certificate in Philippine studies.
