Graduate Assistant Outreach Coordinator Position at UH CSEAS
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, arrange, and implement online and in person outreach lectures/demonstrations in
collaboration with project faculty leader. - Produce outreach materials (for K-12) using video and audio resources as part of a
team. - Assist project faculty leader with online course development featuring outreach
components. - Edit outreach content in various formats provided by instructors.
- Assist the Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS) in all logistical arrangements
(flights, ground transportation, accommodations, confirming schedules of participants
and venue hosts) for outreach activities (performances and lecture-demonstrations). - Write reports on outreach activities, including use of photos and post-event surveys.
- Assist other graduate assistants with CSEAS tasks as needed and collaborate with
CSEAS staff as needed to ensure success of programs.
Minimum Qualifications - Full time classified graduate student in the humanities/social sciences, education,
education technology, or previous work in outreach resource development. - Competency in desktop publishing and word processing with high-level English skills.
- Competency working with Zoom for large groups.
- Basic web design skills for WordPress and Laulima.
- Experience using social media for educational program development.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication skills in previous professional
experiences and ability to work as part of a team. - Ability to communicate effectively with project faculty leader.
Desirable Qualifications - Experience in designing and developing learning activities for K-12 and beyond.
- Basic video and sound editing skills.
- Competency with both Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Knowledge of ADA compliance regulations.
- Public relations experience.
