Teacher Workshop: Puppetry in the Classroom

The East-West Center (EWC) and the Pacific and Asian Affairs Council (PAAC) are partnering to offer an interactive workshop for K-12 teachers in Hawaiʻi. The workshop is presented in conjunction with the East-West Center Gallery exhibition “Cosmic Characters: Wood Puppets of Asia”.
Participants will learn about Asian and Hawaiian puppet traditions, experience hands-on workshops, discover strategies to incorporate puppetry in the classroom, and gain access to resources in the community.
There is a $10 non-refundable registration fee. There are limited travel stipends available for neighbor island teachers. Workshop dates are April 5 & 6, 2019.
