“ISEAS at 50: Understanding Southeast Asia Past and Present” Featuring Dr. Leonard Andaya
In 2018, ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute (Singapore) celebrated its 50th year with three public lectures. The first lecture, in February, was given by UHM Professor of History, Dr. Leonard Andaya and was entitled “Developments in the Scholarship on Southeast Asia“. The second lecture was given in March by Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. The third and final lecture, in October, was entitled “Before Southeast Asia: Passages and Terrains” and was delivered by Dr. Wang Gungwu. Dr. Barbara Andaya, UHM Professor of Asian Studies, gave the opening address for the third lecture.
