Talk: Disaster Risk Reduction in West Papua

The Center is co-sponsoring a talk alongside the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, the National Disaster Preparedness Training Center, and the Coastal Hydraulics Engineering Resilience Lab, entitled “Disaster Risk Reduction in West Papua: Lessons Learned and The Way Forward”.
About the speaker
Hendri Hendri, PhD, Coordinator Program of Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management in the Center for Environmental Research and Team Leader for University forum for Disaster Risk Reduction in West Papua. He is also a Senior Lecturer at Faculty of Forestry, University of Papua focused on green and blue carbon, renewable energy, extreme climate conditions, and environmental assessment using complex interactions between land surface (SOLVEG) -atmosphere (MM5, WRF) – wind, waves (SWAN, WW3) – ocean (POM) – estuary (ECOMSED) models that known as Regional Environment Simulator (RES). He earned his Dr. Eng. at Graduate School for International Development and Cooperation (IDEC), Hiroshima University.
