Dr. David Hanlon is Chair of the Department of History at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. We talked recently about the upcoming Engaging With Vietnam conference, interdisciplinary conferences, and the Department of History.
Engaging with Vietnam is an interdisciplinary conference which seeks to connect academics and artists who, while working in their own fields, are often asking the same questions about Vietnamese society. The conference provides an opportunity for collaboration between academia and the arts “to find more rigorous and interdisciplinary answers to their questions”.
